Chattarpur Mandir is a temple that is fully constructed with white marble, here in the temple there is continuous recitation of prayers so they each one that visits the temple can participate in the prayers whenever they want. This temple is also popular as Shree Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Durga who is here known as Ma Katyayani which is her sixth avatar. There are also other deities that are resided in this temple they are Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, Lord Ram, Lord Ganesha, Santakmochan Hanuman, Lakshman and Sita. This is a wonderful temple which is to be visited atleast ones. The location of this temple is just 4 kilometres from Qutub Minar, through drive Gurgoan is just at the distance of half an hour.

Kalpavrisksha tree your all wishes gets fulfilled. The architecture of the temple belongs to Chalukya and Chola but is without Gopuram, the the pyramidical tower is luxuriously ornamented with jaali and naqqashi work all above the façade.  Several of the sanctums like of Mahishasurmardini are opened just through unique days like Navratri and Purnima (full moon days). At the time of Navratri’s you can find devotees visiting this temple in huge numbers, the count reaches to more than 10 millions.

Thread around the Kalpavrisksha Tree

Like all temples, Chattarpur Mandir also has a myth attached to it, the Katyayani’s birth was the sixth form of incarnation of Goddess Durga and has a great story behind it. It was by her hands that Mahishasur was destroyed and so she is also personified as Mahishasurmardini. Mostly in Durga Pooja’s she is portrayed with elegant hair, stern expressions and blonde complexion.
