Beach Pleasures in Karwar Travels

Some of the best travel pleasures can be experienced in the beach regions of India. When we are in these lovely locales of the beaches in India, the pleasure of enjoying these exciting moments is something beyond description.

Mountaineers and trekkers greatly enjoy the pleasures that the beaches in the most pristine locales of India. While the rivers cascade down and provide ideal travel luxury, beaches just take the tourist to a paradise like land and relax his tired nerves. Nature enthusiasts would never hesitate to enjoy his small getaways in weekend spots and if they are beaches then nothing like it. The natural beauty of the beach regions ensure that the beach lover is given the best feelings of being in a Garden of Eden.

I too am a beach enthusiast, an avid trekker and a lover of adventure. So beaches in Karwar in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka only added to my interests when my cousin told me about them. In one of my weekend getaways obviously Karwar became my prized destination and my best choice last month when I had the time to take a break from my regular schedule. Karwar beach is located in the famous Kannada district of Karnataka state and is best known for its fascinating sights and beautiful sands that kiss the ground here. This is also a pilgrim centre for many who come to visit the small temples in and around this region. There was something about the ambience of the place that lent me the capacity to enjoy to the fullest here. After a rigorous routine when I found myself in a pristine ambience of calm, tranquility and gentle winds, I was totally taken in by the whole feeling and the expanse of golden sands soothed my tired nerves energizing them completely and activating my dormant travel interests entirely.

This is the land which the great poet Rabindranath Tagore visited and got so inspired that he wrote poems praising the beauty of the region. Yes, there is something about this place which cannot be expressed by words. The quiet ambience, the serene sight of the crystal clear blue sea waters, the golden sand that caress your feet all render you totally weak with pleasure and you would have to stop yourself innumerable times from falling all over in love with the place .

How to reach

Karwar is reached from the Goa Airport by air. It is around 550 km from Bangalore and the time taken to reach from Bangalore is around 12 hours.

Activities

Karwar is one place where you just do not have a schedule to look into. So enjoy the pleasures of bathing in the sun and playing the ideal water sports. Allow yourself to be hypnotized by the surroundings and for once don’t think of what lies beyond your stay here. For here living seems to be an eternity and I tell you that time seems to stand still then I wouldn’t be exaggerating.

Visit the Sadashivgad fort here which is a greatly historical place which lies at the place where the River Kali and The Arabian Sea meet. Constructed sometime in the 18th century this is one place which is quite interesting to watch here.

Then there is the Durga temple we went to and the Venkatramana too. This temple is more than 300 years old and is mainly famous for the ochre paintings. Take an adventurous trip to Dandeli Game Park where I really enjoyed myself. This is around 110 km away from Karwar but worth the visit.

My friend Abhinav is another wildlife enthusiast like me so we also went to the Anshi national Park which is located around 60 kilometers from Karwar. Spanning over an area of around 340 square kilometres, this is one place which is interesting for the intriguing endangered species it has.

Then we went to the Kurumgad beach which is found around 7 kms from Karwar. Here we had the most cherishable moments of our travel.

Karwar beach is famous world over for its silver sand, the peaceful alleys and the calm waves. With the most pleasant and tranquil surrounding the palm trees here only enhance the beauty. As we walked around we saw innumerable kites and vultures flying above us. Abhinav was trying to catch them on camera. The golden pleasures of the sandy delights here is something to take home.

Devbagh is another lovely place we went to where we could enjoy the pleasures of snorkeling and diving. The exotic locale of the Karwar beach is around 2 hours from south Goa. This is the finest beach locale in this part of the world and looks heavenly with its blue sea and the tall green trees. With the exclusive landscape and many hotels, this is one locale that is surely a must see spot here. The beauty of the Arabian Sea with the islands scattered around makes it an ideal holiday destination.

With many shells to pick up on the lovely sand, there are pleasures of seeing a dolphin also here. There are dolphin tours that take you inside the sea and give you the experience of seeing the dolphins play.

With other facilities like surfing, windsurfing, snorkeling and such beach activities, Karwar today stands tall in the list of beaches to visit in India.
