Royal luxury seemed to exude out of the surroundings and I loved the ambience that was created within the train. I was also happy that we had made it at the right time, during the month of October as the months between September to April are the best time to visit any palace on the Palace on Wheels.

The other months of the year sees the Royal Palace on Wheels luxury train getting overhauled and renovated to suit the requirements of the royal passengers. This charming princess on wheels was a complete experience of royal customs, great reception and the best of cuisine.

The itinerary that we had planned was such that the night is spent in travelling the lesser scenic places and the daytime offers you the best kind of tourist spots to visit. So I was looking forward to a great experience with the train taking us to havelis, palaces, the dunes of Rajasthan and the forts here. Yes if you are a nature lover and would want to visit the lovely wild sanctuaries in this part of the world then just get on to the Palace on Wheels and start enjoying this one trip which you would never ever forget to cherish. There are many corporate companies who are making group bookings for the palace on Wheels, so if you are a part of a company tour, that too is possible.

There are around 14 deluxe saloons in the Palace on Wheels. Each had around 4 cabins and an attached bath and shower. Music, intercom facilities and games for the passengers were provided in the cabin.

I loved the maharaja Restaurant which was one of the restaurants on the train, the other being the Maharani. Nice names, I thought and very apt for the Indian royalty.  Any cuisine you ask for and they give you. Whether it is Chinese, or Continental or Rajasthan. If you are worried about laundering your clothes, don’t worry, there is a facility for that too. Then there are beauty parlours and even a barber shop. A Khidmatgar is available always for you. He is your assistant and helper for every small problem that you have ion board.

You could go through Jaipur, Delhi, Jaisalmer, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Agra and Bharatpur in this train. Just enjoy the tours to this part of India and get royal through this unique luxury train in India.
