Parli Vaijnath, One Among The 12 Jyotirlingas
The twelve Jyotrilingas have a great significance of existence over various parts of India. All these Jyotrilingas are dedicated to Lord Shiva. Other than Parli Vaijnath the other temples are located at Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Pune, Nasik, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and much more on list. Parli Vaijnath is the 5thin the twelve Jyotirlingas which has its situation in the Beed district of Maharshtra, this place is at the distance of 110 kilometres from Nanded, this is a big city that is well connected by Aurangabad and Mumbai by road, air and rail. Nanded is a place well known for most of the significant Gurudwaras that is a main pilgrimage centre of Sikhs. In India you can see countless temples having dedication to Lord Shiva and every where Lord Shiva is worshipped in His phallic or Linga form. There is a story attached to this temple that is at the time when Yogeshwari of Ambejogai was getting married to Parali’s Lord Vaijnath, but by the time of the marriage party was reached, the auspicious time of wedding had passed off and as a result the people at the marriage party turned into statues of stones. In the month of Shravan all the Jyotrilingas has its own significance of its own, in this month many devotees visit the temples of Lord Shiva on Monday, as Monday is the day which is considered best for the pooja of Lord Shiva, this temple was reconstructed by Ahilayabai Holkar by stone. The temple is attracted by large no of devotees through its grand entrance, in the temple there is a Shani temple and three kundas, in which pilgrims are also attracted by the Shani temple. without pillars that is constructed of sagwan wood. During the time of festivals you can see that the temple is full with pilgrims that come to enjoy the festivals with the presence of Almighty. The festivals celebrated here in great grandeur are Gudi Padwa, Shivratri and Navratri. And at the time of Shravan there are special poojas held here for the pilgrims who visit here on this occasion.
You can also reach this temple from Aurangabad which is just 240 kilometres away from this temple, the experience of visiting this temple was very serene with its location on the hills that faces the eastern side and it has doors for entering the temple from both the southern and the northern side. This place is also well connected with Amalner, Jamnagar, Hyderabad and many others. You can also get the feel of the presence of Lord Shiva in the temple.
